Job summary

Advocates seeks compassionate staff to promote independence and meaningful activities for individuals facing developmental and mental health challenges. You will work part-time, Tuesdays, delivering one-on-one support in community settings and helping clients pursue personal goals.

The role emphasizes respect, safety, and a person-centered approach, with a starting pay of $24.00 per hour and a commitment to inclusion and opportunity for the people we serve.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree preferred.
• At least 1 year experience working with individuals with disabilities or autism.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving status.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of and commitment to agency mission and values.
• Develop meaningful community schedules based on the client’s choices and preferences.
• Work one-on-one for a minimum 3 hours with the client in their local community.
• Think creatively to engage clients and help them try new opportunities.
• Source volunteer opportunities.
• Assist clients with schedule flexibility, communication, and skill development.
• Pickup clients from home and work toward pre-determined goals in the community.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Education Required

High School Diploma/GED

Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred.
• At least 1 year experience working with individuals with disabilities/autism.
• Medical experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license along with an acceptable driving status.
• Use of a reliable vehicle, which seats two passengers.
• Additional specific experience may be required.
