Job summary

Community Options, Inc. is hiring a Full-Time Community Integration Counselor in Columbia, MD. The CIC assists individuals with learning physical, intellectual, emotional, and social life skills in the community.

Starting pay is $18.00 per hour. Shift: Monday–Friday 8:00am–4:00pm. Responsibilities include supporting independence, meeting participants, documenting progress, and coordinating community activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Minimum of two years' experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Background checks including criminal, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals to maximize independence.
• Meet waiver participants in residence, community, or office.
• Provide ongoing support for community integration.
• Document progress toward community integration goals.
• Assist in building support networks within the community.
• Administer medications and complete documentation.
• Coordinate leisure and volunteering opportunities.
• Monitor health and report concerns.
• Drive individuals to medical appointments and community activities.
• Ensure accurate and timely program and billing records.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.
• Cooperate with license and department staff during inspections.
