Residential Services Incorporated seeks dedicated professionals to support individuals with intellectual disabilities in living, working, and engaging with their communities. You will teach life skills, assist with employment readiness, and coordinate services with families and medical providers.

Applicants should have a social services background, at least 2 years of experience as a DSP, and strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Background in social work or related human services required.
• Minimum 2 years as a DSP or similar role.
• Experience with case management software or community resource databases.
• Excellent communication and cultural competence.

Assists individuals with intellectual disabilities, to live, work, and participate fully in their local communities. Provides opportunities for individuals to interact in the community with staff support to ensure positive experiences.

Core Responsibilities

• Skill Development: Teach life skills, social abilities, self-advocacy, and work readiness.
• Resource Access: Connect clients to public transit, libraries, healthcare, recreational programs, and community events.
• Employment Support: Assist clients in finding, securing, and retaining jobs in non-segregated, inclusive workplaces as appropriate.
• Care Coordination: Partner with family members, case managers, medical providers, to ensure that individuals’ needs are met.
• Advocacy: Promote client dignity, autonomy, and civil rights under frameworks like the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Qualifications & Background

• Education: Strong background in social work, DSP with a minimum of 2 years’ experience.Degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or human services preferred.
• Key Skills: Strong communication, cultural competence, crisis problem-solving, and familiarity with case management software or local resource databases.
• Work Settings: Will work in all settings, home, office and community.
