Job summary

KMTV 3 News Now in Omaha, NE seeks a Senior Manager of Community Connections to build trusted ties with civic, nonprofit, business, education, and government leaders. Lead community engagement and turn insights into stronger journalism and partnerships while guiding timely responses to audience questions.

You will plan forums, town halls, and public-interest initiatives, coordinate across News, Sales, Marketing, and leadership, and develop a strategy that expands local impact and trust.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent years of experience preferred.
• Generally, 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in community engagement, journalism, nonprofit leadership, communications, public affairs, partnership development, government relations, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders to understand priorities and opportunities.
• Gather, analyze, and communicate community insights to leadership, newsroom teams, and partners.
• Identify story opportunities with News and support audience engagement across community channels.
• Serve as the station's primary community liaison with civic, nonprofit, business, educational, and government orgs.
• Represent the station in the community and foster partnerships with long-term value.
• Ensure timely, professional responses to audience inquiries and concerns.
• Plan and execute forums, town halls, public-service initiatives, and educational programs.
• Collaborate with News, Sales, Marketing, and leadership to strengthen audience relationships.
• Oversee event logistics, stakeholder coordination, and impact measurement.
• Develop and execute a market-wide community engagement strategy aligned with priorities.
• Advise leadership on community needs and opportunities to strengthen trust.
• Lead cross-functional engagement efforts and share best practices.
