Job summary

KMTV, the CBS affiliate in Omaha, Nebraska, owned by The E.W. Scripps Company, is seeking a Senior Manager of Community Connections to link the station with local civic, nonprofit, business, education and government leaders.

You will lead the newsroom’s community engagement and ensure timely responses to audience questions while building partnerships that strengthen journalism and community impact.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent years of experience preferred.
• 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in community engagement, journalism, nonprofit leadership, communications, public affairs, partnership development, government relations, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders to understand issues, priorities and opportunities.
• Gather, analyze, and communicate community insights to station leadership and newsroom teams.
• Partner with News to identify story opportunities and support audience engagement.
• Serve as the station’s primary community liaison with civic, nonprofit, business, education and government organizations.
• Represent the station and foster partnerships that create long-term value and impact.
• Ensure responsive, professional communication with community members; route inquiries promptly.
• Lead planning and execution of forums, town halls, and community programs.
• Collaborate with News, Sales, Marketing and leadership to strengthen audience relationships.
• Oversee event logistics, stakeholder coordination, and effectiveness measurement.
