Job summary

Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation is seeking a full-time Program Officer to manage grantmaking and scholarship programs and support nonprofit capacity-building and community leadership initiatives in Isabella County.

Reporting to the Program Director, you will coordinate donor intents, publicize cycles, process applications, and maintain strong relationships with grantees, schools, nonprofits, and government units to advance shared community goals.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based communication tools.
• Ability to learn and use grant management software.
• Knowledge of nonprofit operations and grantmaking processes.
• Strong analytical and communication skills for reporting to donors and stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Understand and uphold donors’ goals for grants and scholarships.
• Publicize grant and scholarship protocols, guidelines, and timelines.
• Screen and process submissions and enter data into grants management software.
• Maintain ongoing contact with grantees and scholarship recipients.
• Highlight funded projects and outcomes through reports, site visits, and events.
• Coordinate reporting requirements and conduct site visits to verify donor intent.
• Promote training opportunities for local nonprofit staff and boards.
• Collaborate with committees, prepare agendas, and take meeting minutes.
• Engage stakeholders and manage communications with schools, nonprofits, and government units.
• Support strategic alignment by identifying funding gaps and opportunities.
