Job summary

La Clínica del Pueblo is seeking a Primary Care Physician (MD or DO) to provide comprehensive primary care across the lifespan in a mission-driven, community health setting in Washington, DC and/or Hyattsville, MD.

Working with interdisciplinary teams, you will deliver evidence-based care, participate in quality improvement, and contribute to equity through trauma-informed and linguistically appropriate services.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical or osteopathic school.
• Board certification by ABIM, ABP, or ABFM unless exempted per policy.
• Current licensure in DC and Maryland; willing to apply if not licensed.
• Experience using electronic health records in ambulatory settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary care to a dedicated panel of patients across the lifespan.
• Perform clinical histories, physical examinations, assessments, and develop treatment plans.
• Deliver preventive health screenings, health maintenance, and patient education.
• Provide culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and linguistically appropriate care.
• Document clinical encounters in the electronic health record; review external records as needed.
• Coordinate referrals and additional services including behavioral health, nursing, and case management.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams; participate in regular multidisciplinary meetings.
• Provide clinical guidance and mentorship to staff as appropriate.
• Deliver urgent and after-hours care during clinic hours and on-call rotations.
• Engage in continuing education and supervise health professional students as needed.
• Participate in clinical quality improvement and risk management activities.
