The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania invites applications for a Community Health Nurse with the Bureau of Community Health Systems. You will support public health programs, work with partners, respond to health needs, and help improve the health of Pennsylvanians.

In this full-time role, you will perform health assessments, coordinate outreach, develop programs based on local data, monitor results, and deliver essential immunization and disease testing services according to public health protocols.

Formación

• Active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
• If you possess an active temporary practice permit, you must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within one year.
• You must meet the PA residency requirement and be able to perform essential job functions.
• Must pass a background investigation and comply with Child Protective Services Law.

This position provides public health services, community outreach, and health education to support the well-being of individuals and families. As a Community Health Nurse, you will perform the following duties:

• Public Health Initiatives: Develop programs based on local data, nursing guidelines, and identified community priorities

Work Schedule and Additional Information

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Work infrequently requires statewide travel and irregular or flexible work hours, including overnights, weekends, and holidays.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Special Requirements

• This position requires active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
• If you possess an active temporary practice permit, you must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

• You must pass a background investigation.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
  • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
