Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Community Health Nurse Supervisor within the Bureau of Community Health Systems. The role supervises public health services and guides staff in planning and delivering programs that support community health.

This position supervises public health services and guides staff in planning and delivering programs that support community health. As a Community Health Nurse Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:

• Disease Surveillance: Oversee investigations of reportable diseases using public health systems and manuals
• Clinical Leadership: Direct and perform clinical practices that support the delivery of community health services
• Program Planning: Plan and manage public health services, emergency responses, and community activities
• Community Partnership: Guide staff in working with community agencies, schools, hospitals, and councils to support health initiatives
• Staff Supervision: Lead, train, and evaluate staff to maintain a competent public health workforce
• Program Monitoring: Monitor health programs and assess data to support improved health outcomes

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Weekend and after-hours assignments are required as necessary.
• Headquarters: The work location will be determined by the selected candidate and may be at the state health center in Elk, McKean, Venango, or Warren county.
• This position supervises Community Health Nurses and clerical staff within the Northwest District which includes the following counties: Cameron, Clarion, Clearfield, Crawford, Elk, Forest, Jefferson, Lawrence, McKean, Mercer, Venango, and Warren. However, this position will only supervise staff serving within Elk/Cameron, McKean, Venango, and Warren counties.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the selected headquarters office. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Three years as a Community Health Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Four years of community health nursing experience; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

• You must possess active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
• If you possess an active temporary practice permit, you must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Other Requirements:

• You must pass a background investigation.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
