Job summary

New Mexico Department of Health NW Region seeks a Health Promotion professional to support community health equity efforts through education, outreach, and coordination of local health initiatives. The role involves collaboration with regional partners, program staff, and community groups to implement health priorities.

The ideal candidate has experience in community education, coalition building, and applying evidence-based prevention approaches to local health issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or Education and 1 year health-related field experience. Any combination totaling five years may substitute for education/experience.
• Experience with community education and outreach is preferred.
• HIPAA trainings and defensive driving certifications are typical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support NW Region and communities to address health inequities and priorities.
• Coordinate local health improvement activities and liaise with Department of Health.
• Assist in training, education, and grant management for community health councils.
