Job summary

McMillen Health is seeking a Health Educator to deliver engaging, evidence-based education programs to diverse community groups. The role includes developing and evaluating curricula, presenting interactive sessions, and supporting fund development as part of the organization's mission.

As a full-time, 10-month hourly position, the educator may work evenings and weekends and will travel up to 150 miles for outreach activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, health, nursing, or related field is required.
• Teaching license or CHES preferred; two years teaching experience.
• Strong organizational, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet usage, and email.
• Valid, active driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Learn multiple health education programs and present them to community groups, schools, businesses, and nonprofits.
• Execute program presentations using visuals, graphics, activities and learning strategies.
• Participate in team conferences and share knowledge with colleagues.
• Identify opportunities to develop new health education programs.
• Travel up to 150 miles to provide outreach programming as needed.
• Stand, teach and speak for multiple class periods.
• Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by leadership.
