Job summary

Maniilaq Association in Shungnak, Alaska, seeks a Relief Community Health Aide Trainee to provide first-line health care in village clinics under supervision.

You will complete CHAM, Pre-Session, and EMT/ETT training to progress to CHA-I, work within scope, and travel to villages for training and CME.

This non-exempt role supports acute, preventive, and chronic care, with on-site duties in CHAP and Clinic operations.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and pass TABE testing.
• Must be available to attend training and move to higher CHA levels.
• Willingness to provide health services in village settings.

Responsibilities

• Work scheduled clinic hours as arranged by Clinic Supervisor and CHAP Administration.
• Complete CHAM training and Pre-Session/ETT or EMT training before health aide sessions.
• Obtain vital signs after Pre-Session and maintain EMS certification.
• Assist with acute and emergency care per CHAM at your training level.
• Support PHN and WIC program for eligible clients.
• Monitor long-term medications and assist with refills via MHC Pharmacy.
• Maintain daily medical logs and replenish clinic supplies.
