Job summary

Jewish Collaborative Services is seeking an Assistant Food Service Coordinator to support daily operations of the food pantry and meal site.

You will assist with inventory, meal planning, and delivery of nutritious meals, while supervising volunteers and maintaining a welcoming, respectful environment.

The role requires an associate degree and at least 1 year of food service or pantry experience; ServSafe or similar certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and customer service skills.
• Reliable and organized with a positive attitude.
• Comfortable following procedures and maintaining attention to detail.
• Basic experience with Microsoft 365 Suite.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Food Pantry & Inventory Support: assist with organizing and distributing food, track inventory, FIFO, labeling, and shelving.
• Meal Site Support: assist with preparing and serving nutritious meals and setting up dining areas.
• Volunteer Engagement: orient and schedule volunteers; model teamwork and efficiency.
• Health & Safety Compliance: follow proper food handling, hygiene, and sanitation; maintain logs and assist inspections.
• Client & Community Engagement: provide respectful service and help connect clients to resources.
• Administrative Tasks: maintain logs, communicate with vendors/donors, and support events.
