Job summary

Keystone Community Services in Saint Paul, MN, is seeking a Food Market Assistant to support the Basic Needs program. Typical hours are 9:00am–5:30pm with a rotating Wednesday shift 10:00am–6:30pm, at our new Keystone Food Center in the Midway area.

The role involves participant service, data tracking, and general food market operations, with duties ranging from customer assistance to data entry and donor engagement.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Computer skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.

Responsibilities

• Greet participants and guide them through the shopping process.
• Assist with food market line management.
• Complete participant intake interviews.
• Assist participants with limited English during intake and shopping.
• Manage flow of participants to ensure safe and efficient service.
• Enter participant and service information into database.
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry.
• Assist with receiving deliveries, unpacking and stocking inventory.
• Greet donors and receive donations.
• Assist with daily operations of Basic Needs program.
• Assist with volunteer task assignment, training and supervision.
• Assist with special projects.
• Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
