Job summary

Puyallup Tribal Health Authority in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Registered Dietitian to join our healing community. This on-site, full-time role runs Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with a competitive salary range and a focus on whole-person wellness and culturally grounded care.

You will assess nutrition, provide counseling, support WIC participants, and collaborate with clinical teams to manage diabetes, obesity, and other conditions, ensuring respectful, relationship-based care.

Qualifications

• WA State certification as a Registered Dietitian.
• Experience with WIC services/programs and working in an EHR system.
• Two years of diabetes education experience preferred.
• BLS certification and WA State Food Worker Card or ability to obtain within one month of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized nutrition care: conduct nutrition assessments, counseling, and care plans reflecting patient health needs, preferences, and goals.
• Support whole-person wellness: collaborate with medical, behavioral health, and wellness professionals to help patients manage diabetes, obesity, chronic pain, and other conditions.
• Educate and empower: facilitate group education, workshops, and nutrition classes to support sustainable lifestyle changes.
• Support families through WIC: develop nutrition education plans that respect cultural values for participating families.
• Strengthen community health: contribute to nutrition-related policies and wellness initiatives aligned with PTHA’s mission.
