Job summary

Williamsburg Post Acute & Rehabilitation in Williamsburg, VA is seeking a friendly Dietary Aide to assist in preparing and serving meals that meet residents’ dietary plans. You will ensure proper portioning, deliver and clear trays, and help maintain a clean, sanitary dining and kitchen area.

You will collaborate with dietary and nursing staff to support residents’ nutritional needs and contribute to a compassionate, community-focused care team, including weekend or holiday shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in food service, healthcare, or hospitality setting preferred (but not required — we’ll train the right person!).
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Must be dependable and able to work scheduled shifts, including weekends or holidays as needed.
• Knowledge of sanitation, safety, and infection control standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and serving meals and snacks according to resident dietary plans and facility menus.
• Ensure proper portion control and food presentation.
• Set up, deliver, and collect meal trays and dining room service.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, dining areas, and equipment in compliance with state and facility regulations.
• Wash dishes, utensils, and equipment following safe food-handling procedures.
• Stock and organize food supplies and assist with inventory as needed.
• Work collaboratively with dietary and nursing staff to meet residents’ nutritional needs.
