Job summary

The Arc of Litchfield County, Inc. (LARC) seeks compassionate Direct Support Professionals for our Day Service Options program in Torrington, CT.

This role requires active engagement with adults with I/DD to build skills, explore interests, and participate in communities, helping them pursue personal goals. You’ll listen, encourage, and create meaningful daily activities in partnership with individuals, families, and the LARC team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid Connecticut driver's license with a safe driving record.
• Ability to complete background checks and a pre-employment physical.
• Basic computer skills and electronic documentation experience.
• Ability and willingness to support individuals with varying needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliability, good judgment, and person-centered approach.

Responsibilities

• Support adults with I/DD to build skills and participate in community activities.
• Encourage independence and reinforce goal attainment in individualized plans.
• Provide transportation and assist with personal care when needed.
• Document progress and maintain accurate records of services and goals.
• Collaborate with coworkers, families, and the LARC team to ensure quality care.
