Hartford Police Department is seeking qualified police officers to perform law enforcement duties protecting life and property in Hartford, CT. You will engage in crime prevention, public service, and community policing while working a 40-hour week on a rotating shift that includes weekends and holidays.

The process includes multiple examinations and a strict background check. Applicants must have current CT POST certification, a valid CT driver’s license, and pass a medical exam.

• P.O.S.T. Certification must be current at appointment.
• CT POST certification required with copy submitted with application.
• Valid CT driver's license must be submitted with application.
• Medical examination and extensive background checks required.
• Hartford residency preferred with residency affidavit submission.
