Job summary

City of Arroyo Grande seeks a part-time facility attendant to supervise city facilities, including the Community Center, and assist with setup, cleanup, and information services. The role requires maintaining a clean, safe environment, monitoring occupancy, and reporting issues to the supervisor.

It offers a flexible, part-time schedule and no guaranteed hours. No prior experience is required beyond a tenth-grade completion, and a California driver’s license may be required.

Qualifications

• Effective communication skills for public inquiries and staff coordination.
• Proper phone etiquette and courteous communication.
• Ability to perform required physical tasks including lifting up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, facilitate and monitor the use of the City’s facilities.
• Respond to inquiries and provide information to the public.
• Assist facility patrons with setup and cleanup; maintain a clean facility.
• Clean up kitchen, floors and counters if needed.
• Ensure groups observe rules and safety regulations; report issues.
• Record occupancy and usage metrics during events.
• Report damages or problems with facility usage.
• Answer phones, take messages and direct to staff.
• Perform related duties as required.
• Respond to City emergencies as needed.
