Marklund in Geneva is hiring a Community Events Manager! Would you like to make a difference in the lives of others and be appreciated for what you do? Join us in making everyday life possible for individuals with profound disabilities and love your job!

Marklund is seeking a highly motivated and mission-centered individual for this full-time position based out of our Geneva campus. The schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM, with occasional evenings and weekends for special events. The salary for this position is $58,000. Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the job and meet its environmental requirements.

Who We Are

Marklund is a nonprofit organization providing residential, educational, and therapy services to individuals with developmental disabilities and healthcare needs across three locations: the Hyde Center in Geneva, the Philip Center in Bloomingdale, and the Wasmond Center in Elgin. We serve nearly 178 residents and offer various programs including a Day School and Community Day Services.

Role Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations to secure new corporate sponsors.
• Manage two 5K/1 Mile Race events, including logistics and sponsorships.
• Coordinate logistics for community events benefiting Marklund, such as local, civic, school, and parent events.
• Oversee third-party event applications and policies.
• Assist with donor stewardship activities like thank-a-thons and team cultivation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required
• One to three years of non-profit experience required
• Experience with community events like walks and runs preferred
• Experience with Raisers Edge software is a plus
