Popcorn for the People is seeking an Event Associate to represent our social enterprise at local events around Pittsburgh, Lehigh, and Scranton. You will assist with setup, engage customers, hand out samples, and process sales on an iPad POS while helping in production when needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and community members.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to learn and operate a Point of Sale (POS) system on an iPad.
• Reliable transportation to assigned event locations.
• Ability to work a flexible per diem schedule based on event and production needs.
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Previous customer service, retail, sales, food service, or event experience.
• Experience using a Point of Sale (POS) system.

Responsibilities

• Attend assigned local events, including farmers markets, sporting events, local shops, service plazas, corporate offices, and other community venues.
• Assist the Event Lead with event setup, breakdown, and daily operations.
• Engage customers and community members in a friendly and professional manner.
• Hand out product samples and provide information about Popcorn for the People.
• Process transactions using a Point of Sale (POS) system on an iPad.
• Maintain an organized and welcoming event space.
• Assist in the production facility as needed.
• Support inventory, product preparation, and packaging activities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
