Job summary

The City of San Luis invites applications for the Special Events Coordinator role. Under the Recreation Manager, you will plan, promote, and evaluate community events, festivals, and cultural arts programs sponsored or co-sponsored by the city.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent and three years of full-time progressively responsible experience planning, coordinating, and implementing special events, recreational programs, or similar activities.
• Arizona Driver’s License required.
• Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
• First Aid/CPR Certification required.
• Residency within 25 miles of the City of San Luis and ability to pass extensive background checks.
• Bilingual in Spanish is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate community events, festivals, and cultural arts programs.
• Develop event budgets and monitor revenues/expenditures; pursue cost recovery and sponsorship opportunities.
• Identify, recruit, coordinate sponsors, partners, vendors, exhibitors, and contractors; negotiate service arrangements.
• Prepare event plans, schedules, site layouts, and timelines; coordinate staffing, volunteers, equipment, and permits.
• Collaborate with City departments and external agencies to ensure safety, compliance, and smooth operations.
• Coordinate marketing and promotional efforts across channels including guides, websites, and social media.
