Job summary

The City of San Benito Police Department is seeking a Recreation Coordinator to develop and oversee community recreation programs and events, coordinating staff, volunteers, and facilities, and promoting activities to the public for safe, engaging programs.

Responsibilities include planning schedules, managing budgets, creating promotional materials, and coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver inclusive programs for diverse residents. Evening/weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Current Texas Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Organizes employees, contractors, and/or volunteers.
• Plans, develops, coordinates, and schedules programs, activities, events, and staffing.
• Manages and directs the daily operations of recreational facilities, activities, and/or special events.
• Coordinates Citywide events.
• Coordinates the design and creation of necessary materials to market and promote programs.
• Assists with and monitors the budget.
• Coordinates cross-functional work groups.
• Research trends and implements best practices with respect to recreational programs and activities.
