Job summary

City of Baytown is seeking a Public Affairs Coordinator to support the Public Affairs Department in dialogue, engagement, and marketing with residents and City government. You will coordinate listening tours, surveys, forums, and lead the public engagement committee.

The role involves planning public information materials, representing the City at events, and coordinating with vendors on marketing collateral and outreach projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, PR, Advertising, Journalism, public administration, or related field.
• One year of experience in Community Development, nonprofit outreach, or related field.
• Valid TX driver's license or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, manage and produce public information materials including brochures, fact sheets, AV content, website and social media.
• Coordinate community listening and feedback efforts, surveys, Listening Tours and forums.
• Promote and market City services, operations, and activities to the public.
• Coordinate with outside vendors for marketing materials and manage invoices.
• Represent the City at community events and assist with outreach planning.
• Prepare project updates and reports for City leadership and stakeholders.
• Lead coordinating role for the public engagement committee.
