Job summary

Zipline, the world’s leading drone-delivery company, is seeking a Community Engagement Intern who will support events, communications, and outreach across local communities. You’ll help craft newsletters, engage with residents online, and assist with research on community needs.

This in-person internship runs January to April 2027 at our Dallas, Texas, Austin, Texas, Los Angeles, California or Phoenix, Arizona offices.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field; second year of undergrad completed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Passion for community building and social impact.
• Experience with social media platforms and digital tools for community engagement like Slack and Facebook Groups.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, promoting, and executing community events, workshops, and virtual meetups.
• Support content development for newsletters and social channels.

About The Community Engagement Team

Zipline's Community Engagement Team plays an important public facing role in Zipline's operations. They are responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with local government officials, civic organizations, business groups, neighborhoods, and schools. Their work helps individuals and organizations understand the impact of Zipline's service on the community, job creation, and the future of a logistics system that serves all humans equally.

The Role

Does creating and maintaining important relationships with multiple layers of stakeholders within local communities come naturally to you? Are you an engaging communicator who drives powerful narratives to create excitement and adoption of big and bold ideas? This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about community building, communications, and social impact. You’ll help design and implement strategies to engage our community members, strengthen partnerships, and support outreach initiatives.

What You'll Do

What You'll Bring

• Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Creative thinker who brings enthusiasm and initiative.
• Must be able to travel frequently throughout Dallas, Texas, Austin, Texas, Los Angeles, California, OR Phoenix, Arizona. Requires transportation (not company provided) and the ability to independently travel to operational sites, events, communities, and partner locations as needed.

What Else You Should Know

This internship is a full-time position, in‑person at our Dallas, Texas, Austin, Texas, Los Angeles, California OR Phoenix, Arizona office. We will host our Spring 2027 interns from January to April. Zipline is unable to sponsor work visas for applicants to this position. The hourly rate for this internship is $30 per hour. Additional benefits may include relocation support, a housing stipend, overtime pay, paid sick time, and other benefits, where applicable and subject to local requirements.
