Job summary

Iowa Wild Hockey Club is seeking a Manager of Community Relations to develop and execute programs, events, and initiatives that strengthen the team’s community presence in Des Moines. The role collaborates across departments to promote outreach and support local causes.

The position leads fan engagement, auctions, and themed nights, building partnerships with nonprofit partners and local charities while driving brand growth and community impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• At least two years of experience in event planning.
• Event planning experience in sports or entertainment preferred.
• Community programming experience preferred.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites.
• Knowledge of event planning, event marketing strategies, and e-marketing strategies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute Community Relations programs that promote the Iowa Wild brand and engage the public.
• Promote programs and generate revenue through multiple initiatives with Marketing, Sponsorship, and Ticket departments.
• Develop unique community initiatives and grassroots marketing to grow hockey in Iowa and expand the Wild brand.
• Manage a comprehensive community involvement, events, and promotional calendar, including off-season activities.
• Plan and execute community events and activities; coordinate with charities for events and promotions.
• Create promotional plans for community programs and player appearances; collaborate with Marketing.
• Capture content for storytelling around programs and events (photos, videos, testimonials, stories).
• Lead promotions, auctions, and fan engagement; manage jersey auctions and related experiences.
