Job summary

Jewish Nevada seeks a Community Engagement & Development Manager to build relationships, cultivate donors, coordinate programs, and lead community leadership initiatives across Northern Nevada.

You will partner with the Director of Community Engagement to achieve strategic goals, manage events and campaigns, and expand the organization’s philanthropic impact in a dynamic, hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3–5 years of nonprofit leadership, fundraising or development, community engagement, or event management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience working with volunteers, committees, and community partners.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM platforms, and social media.

Responsibilities

  • Build meaningful relationships with individuals, donors, synagogues, businesses, civic leaders, and organizations.
  • Welcome newcomers and connect them to programs, volunteer opportunities, leadership roles, and philanthropic engagement.
  • Represent Jewish Nevada as a visible ambassador throughout Nevada and expand reach and impact.
  • Develop partnerships to advance Jewish Nevada's mission.

Jewish Nevada is a statewide Jewish Federation dedicated to strengthening Jewish life, caring for those in need, supporting Israel, and building vibrant Jewish communities throughout Nevada and around the world. As Jewish life continues to grow throughout Northern Nevada, we are seeking an exceptional professional to help shape the future of our community.

Position Overview

The Community Engagement & Development Manager is a highly visible, relationship-driven professional who serves as one of Jewish Nevada's primary ambassadors throughout Northern Nevada. Working in close partnership with the Director of Community Engagement, this position helps expand Jewish life by cultivating meaningful relationships, developing volunteer leaders, coordinating impactful community programs, and advancing Jewish Nevada's philanthropic mission.

This is far more than a program management position. It is an opportunity to help build a community, inspire generosity, and create meaningful Jewish experiences while helping grow Northern Nevada's participation in Jewish Nevada's statewide Annual Campaign.

Primary Responsibilities
Community Engagement & Relationship Building
  • Build meaningful relationships with individuals, families, volunteers, donors, synagogues, businesses, civic leaders, and community organizations.
  • Welcome newcomers and connect them to Jewish Nevada programs, volunteer opportunities, leadership roles, and philanthropic engagement.
  • Represent Jewish Nevada as a visible ambassador throughout Nevada.
  • Develop partnerships and expand Jewish Nevada's reach and impact.
Campaign & Philanthropic Development
  • Partner with the Director of Community Engagement to help achieve Northern Nevada's strategic goal of contributing 10% of Jewish Nevada's statewide Annual Campaign.
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of current and prospective donors through cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and relationship management.
  • Personally solicit and close annual campaign gifts through meetings, calls, events, and written communications.
  • Identify and cultivate new philanthropic opportunities and deepen donor engagement.
Volunteer leadership & Community Development
  • Recruit, train, support, and recognize volunteers.
  • Help identify and develop future community leaders.
Programs & Community Experiences
  • Manage community engagement initiatives including Community Circles, Jewish Families Network, educational, volunteer, social programs and more.
  • Assist with Jewish Nevada's signature events including Milk & Honey Jewish Cultural Festival, Jewish Heritage at the Ballpark, Northern Nevada Jewish Film Festival, campaign events, commemorations, and family programming.
  • Manage planning, logistics, registrations, vendors, volunteers, budgets, and onsite execution.
Collaborations & Organizational Excellence
  • Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and partner organizations to advance Jewish Nevada's mission.
  • Participate in professional development and represent Jewish Nevada at regional and national conferences as appropriate.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent professional experience
  • Three to five years of experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising or sales, community engagement, development, event management, or a related field.
  • A natural relationship builder with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience working with volunteers, committees, and community partners.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM platforms, and social media.
  • Valid driver's license with willingness to work evenings and weekends.
