Job summary

The College of New Jersey seeks a Community Engaged Learning Leader for FY27 to support the First-Year CEL program. You will help plan and lead weekly service trips, coordinate with campus and community partners, and be based at Roscoe West on campus. Hours: 15 per week from September 2026 to May 2027.

Duties include trainings, safely operating 12-passenger vans, guiding students, and representing TCNJ professionally. A full license is required; no van driving experience needed.

• Demonstrated time management and commitment to scheduled shifts.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

As a CEL Leader, you will play a vital role within the First-Year Community Engaged Learning (FYCEL) program. FYCEL is a graduation requirement completed by first-year students through FYC 100 which is a two-week course featuring three classroom sessions and a half-day of community service addressing unmet regional needs.

CEL Leaders are the driving force behind this program. We train you to manage logistics, drive 12-passenger vans, and facilitate weekly service trips. If you love working with people, care about making a difference, and want to develop leadership skills, this is the role for you.

Required Qualifications

• A proven track record of excellent time management and commitment to scheduled shifts.

• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and collaborative problem‑solving skills.
