Job summary

Albertina Kerr is seeking a Community Support Specialist to provide daily social, educational, and recreational activities for participants in Kerr's programs. You will collaborate with teammates to design activities aligned with individual service plans and program goals.

The role emphasizes guiding participants through learning experiences, facilitating community-based opportunities, and assisting with personal care while promoting inclusive community engagement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• One year of experience instructing/supervising individuals with developmental disabilities or in a related field.
• Experience using Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and conduct community-based learning and work experiences aligned with individual goals.
• Assist staff to plan, schedule and implement community outings and employment readiness activities.
• Help create social connections between participants and non-disabled community members.
• De-escalate behavioral issues and manage safety per ISP/IEP plan.
• Maintain attendance, behavior, and progress reports daily.
