Job summary

Minnetonka Community Education seeks an enthusiastic Program Supervisor and Instructor to support the Recreation Department and its Explorers childcare program. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience in recreation management, events, leagues, and youth programming, with evening and weekend duties as needed.

You will assist with logistics, supervision, and coordinating family engagement while building a foundation for a future Program Manager role within Community Education.

Qualifications

• B.A. or B.S. in Recreation, Sport Management, Youth Development, Education, or related field.
• Experience or strong interest in program leadership, event planning, youth athletics, or recreational programming.
• Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office; ability to learn registration/schedule software.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational, administrative, and hands-on support to the Recreation Department within Minnetonka Community Education.
• Support the Explorers program by providing childcare for elementary-age students and engaging with families during the school year.
• Assist in planning, logistics, and execution of community events, youth leagues, and weekend programs.
• Attend staff meetings and execute assigned administrative tasks.
• Serve as a flexible resource to keep all recreation programs running smoothly.
• Provide direct classroom leadership and supervision for elementary students about 10 hours per week during the school year.
