Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a Community Education Program Coordinator to develop, coordinate, and evaluate educational, recreational, and enrichment programs for diverse age groups within the district. You will recruit instructors, manage contracts, and help launch new community events aligned with participant interests and needs.

You will publish brochures, promote offerings through district channels and social media, and oversee registration data accuracy.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required; bachelor's preferred.
• Experience coordinating community education, recreation, youth programs, or similar enrichment programs preferred.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
• Experience with registration, database, or recreation management software.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with instructors, staff, students, families, and community members.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
• Ability to work independently while contributing as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, and evaluate educational, recreational, and enrichment programs for children, teens, adults, and families, including after-school, evening, Saturday, and summer offerings.
• Identify, recruit, and support instructors; prepare instructor agreements and contracts.
• Develop new programs and community events based on participant interests, community needs, and program evaluation data, including using facilities software.
• Coordinate and oversee special events, including Super Saturday, Sweetheart Dance, and other Community Education activities.
• Prepare and publish Community Education program brochures three times annually.
• Promote and market programs through district communications, social media, and community outreach.
• Enter, maintain, and monitor program, participant, and registration information using the registration system.
• Visit program locations to monitor operations, support instructors, and ensure high-quality programming and customer service.
• Develop and monitor program budgets, prepare purchase orders, and track expenditures. Awareness of school policies that impact funding.
• Coordinate instructor payroll and maintain accurate financial and program records.
• Attend Community Education staff meetings and participate in department planning and continuous improvement efforts.
• Occasional travel between district facilities may be required.
• Ability to assist with event setup, program materials, and equipment.
• Evening and weekend hours are required based on program schedules and special events.
• Provide administrative support and perform other duties as assigned to support Community Education operations.
