Job summary

South Dakota Urban Indian Health, Inc. (SDUIH) is seeking Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to join our nursing team.

You will provide direct patient care within a culturally responsive clinic setting, observe patients, document in EHR, and collaborate with medical providers to ensure quality outcomes. Responsibilities include implementing orders, maintaining safety, handling lab tasks, and educating patients.

Qualifications

• Must possess current Nursing License (RN or LPN) through the SD State Board of Nursing.
• Pass a federal background check with no related felony convictions.
• Provide Indian Preference documentation if claimed.
• Be a positive role model for the community and others.

Responsibilities

• Carry out orders and assist medical providers in clinical procedures to ensure quality patient care.
• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment for patients and staff between visits.
• Ensure accurate handling of laboratory specimens and proper specimen processing.
• Instruct patients on health promotion and education related to their treatment.
• Prepare and transmit requests for medical records in accordance with HIPAA compliance.
• Maintain flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends as needed.
