Job summary

Great Lakes Bay Health Centers is seeking a dedicated doula/CHW to support pregnant individuals and families in the Saginaw area. You will initiate contact early in pregnancy, attend labor and postpartum visits, and conduct home visits based on client preferences and safety.

Documentation in EMR per Michigan Medicaid guidelines is required. The role emphasizes confidentiality, community resource referrals, and collaboration with medical partners to ensure access to care.

Qualifications

• High School graduate; MDHHS-approved doula training required within 3 months of hire.
• Current MDHHS doula certification (birth/postpartum) preferred; Lactation Counselor preferred.
• Experience in childbirth support and home visitation preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Initiates contact with assigned families as early in pregnancy as possible.
• Attends and supports mother and family through labor and postpartum.
• Visits families in homes and other settings per client needs.
• Documents services in EMR per Medicaid guidelines.
• Maintains confidentiality and makes referrals to community resources.
• Participates in outreach and training of new staff.
