AmeriCorps is seeking a Community Development Specialist VISTA in Mobile, Alabama to enhance economic opportunities and address the root causes of poverty. The role involves delving into community engagement, program oversight, and strategic planning aimed at measurable poverty reduction.

Communities of Transformation (COT) is a community-wide, interdenominational effort designed 1) to change the conversation about issues of poverty, 2) to raise awareness among both churches and community leaders, and 3) to seek to break the generational grip of poverty. COT partners with PRF and aligns with the programming priorities of Economic Opportunity and Education.

The Community Development Specialist with PRF will focus on financial empowerment and poverty reduction, with a focus on designing, implementing, and overseeing programs aimed at improving economic opportunities, access to resources, and overall well-being within the community. The VISTA will work closely with community members, local organizations and stakeholders. The VISTA will contribute to the development and execution of strategies that address the root causes of poverty and promote sustainable solutions. The VISTA will aid in setting the foundation for reducing poverty by 10% reduction within one year. Attend and participate in webinars on poverty reduction and financial empowerment. Collaborate with the entire team to process, evaluate, and effectively service constituents.
