Job summary

Columbia Bank Northeast seeks a Community Development Officer for the NY Market to cultivate relationships with community leaders, nonprofits, and partners, advancing affordable housing and economic development within the CRA New York area. You will connect organizations to bank resources and analyze needs to identify lending and investment opportunities.

The role requires knowledge of federal/state programs, strong communication skills, and the ability to travel and engage in civic events

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of affordable housing, small business development and community development experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel within the metropolitan area for civic and community functions.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Foster and maintain relationships with community leaders, nonprofit organizations, and partners to advance affordable housing and economic development in the NY CRA area.
• Identify and connect housing developers, small business owners, and partners to Columbia Bank’s lines of business to increase lending, investment, and services.
• Stay informed on CRA regulations and programs; research and promote programs for bank participation.
• Represent Columbia Bank at civic and community functions and provide financial education seminars to communities and nonprofits.
