Job summary

Misericordia Home is seeking a Community Day Services Instructor/Trainer in Chicago, IL. You will develop and facilitate lesson-focused programming that helps participants integrate into Chicagoland communities and build skills for greater independence.

You will identify community partners daily, engage with organizations, and may assist with employment-centered training off site. Previous experience with intellectual disabilities is required, with a strong focus on residents' rights and

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience working with persons with intellectual disabilities.
• Valid Illinois driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Ability to work without direct supervision throughout the shift.
• Ability to interact with community members with ease and confidence.
• Commitment to residents’ rights, dignity, and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Develop and facilitate lesson-focused programming centered on integration into Chicagoland communities.
• Find, develop, and access community partners daily with participants.
• Engage with community organizations and represent Misericordia positively.
• Assist with employment-centered training (job coaching) off site as needed.
• Handle emergency situations and daily routine changes calmly and effectively.
• Work without direct supervision for the entire shift.
