City of Durham is seeking EMTs to join Community Response Teams. You will respond to 911 calls involving behavioral health and related crises, provide prehospital medical care, and work closely with peers to develop effective response plans.

Join a progressive department focused on humane, trauma-informed crisis intervention, de-escalation, and collaboration with healthcare and social service partners in Durham County.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of EMT training program.
• Certification by NC OEMS as a Basic EMT (or greater).
• Valid NC driver’s license or able to obtain NC license within 60 days of hire.

Aufgaben

• Respond to 911 calls related to behavioral health, substance use, and crises using trauma-informed crisis intervention.
• Develop collaborative relationships with team members and partner agencies.
• Provide prehospital medical care to sick or injured neighbors in crisis.
• Administer medications and perform EMT-approved procedures.
• Maintain equipment and accurate documentation per policy.
