Job summary

Teach For America is seeking a Community Conversation Facilitator to lead in-person belonging-focused conversations with small groups of 1st and 2nd year corps members in the Chicago-NW Indiana area.

The role includes preparation, training, and a ~1 hour facilitated conversation plus a 30-60 minute debrief. You must be available for both scheduled weeks, with sessions in October 19, 2026 and March 8, 2027, and training beforehand.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of professional work experience, with some direct experience in belonging work and/or working with adults on belonging development.
• At least 2 years of ECE-12 teaching experience with demonstrated student outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate with diverse groups and show self-awareness and adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Internalize and prepare for conversations and meals, including model reflections for corps members.
• Attend 1–2 hours of training and rehearsal.
• Facilitate the conversations/meals (~1 hour) with groups of ~10 corps members.
• Spend 30–60 minutes to debrief the conversations/meals.
• Must be available to facilitate both dates in person.

ROLE TITLE: Community Conversation Facilitator (Temp) – Chicago-NW IndianaLOCATION: Chicago-NW IndianaWHAT YOU’LL DOTFA Community Conversation Facilitators are responsible for facilitating belonging-focused conversations over food in-person with groups of ~10 1st and 2nd year corps members. Facilitators will receive conversation guidance, engage in 1-2 hours of training, facilitate the ~1 hour conversation, and participate in a 30-60 minute debrief. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands.
