Job summary

The City of Portland seeks a Community Center Site Programmer II to support our Recreation programs. This 35-hour permanent position works at City community centers, coordinating events, supervising spaces, and assisting with rentals and drop-in activities.

Greet visitors, set up rooms and equipment, monitor safety, and process program fees in MyRec. Requires strong communication, teamwork, and a valid Class C driver's license; First Aid/CPR/AED certifications preferred or obtainable within 6

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to maintain order and enforce rules in a positive atmosphere.
• Knowledge of a variety of recreational activities and ability to direct them.
• Initiative and willingness to learn additional recreational activities.
• Valid Class C driver’s license with good driving record.
• Must have and maintain First Aid/CPR/AED certifications or obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and answer inquiries in person and via phone/email; provide program information.
• Prepare rooms, arrange tables and chairs, and set up AV or recreational equipment for classes, meetings, and events.
• Monitor common areas to ensure patron safety; enforce facility rules; manage opening/closing procedures.
• Collect drop-in fees or program payments and keep records in MyRec software.
