Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking a Program Assistant to support community center programs for children and adults, under the direction of the Director of Social Services or the Community Program Coordinator.

You will help implement, supervise and assist in programs such as Community Kitchen, showers, laundry, and other community services, while upholding safety and maintaining the facility.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• Experience leading social service programs preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing, conducting and supervising Community Center programs for children and adults.
• Assist in building relationships with parents and children participating in programs.
• Enforce facility safety regulations and emergency procedures.
• Maintain order in the Community Center and enforce conduct and equipment use rules.
• Open and close the community center as needed.
• Safeguard equipment and supplies such as tables, chairs, washer and dryer.
• Maintain cleanliness and operation of the facility when used for programming.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
