Job summary

Mixteco/Indígena Community Organizing Project (MICOP) in Oxnard seeks a dedicated Caseworker to help improve access to mental health services for indigenous communities. The Caseworker will assist clients in navigating resources, perform intake assessments, and act as a translator when needed, supporting Curando la Comunidad initiatives.

This full-time, non-exempt role requires 2+ years of case management, strong organizational skills, and willingness to work evenings or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of case management experience or equivalent education.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable transportation for home visits.
• Knowledge of mental health symptoms (stress, anxiety, depression).
• Experience engaging Mixteco/Indígena communities.

Responsibilities

• Contact individuals and families within two days of referral.
• Conduct intake and needs assessments with Navigators.
• Visit homes or use Zoom to collect and input data.
• Attend team meetings and trainings.
• Provide translation support and help with applications.
• Maintain person-centered plans and track progress.
• Other duties as assigned.
