Job summary

Gratz College's Commonspace café seeks a friendly Barista to provide welcoming, efficient service in a flexible part-time role. You will work mornings weekdays, serving coffee, tea, and other beverages while maintaining a clean space and following safety standards.

Responsibilities include taking orders, handling payments, stocking supplies, and supporting events. Training includes espresso equipment, customer service, and sanitation with ServSafe Manager certification expected during employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, tea, and other café beverages according to established recipes and standards.
• Provide friendly, welcoming, and professional customer service.
• Take customer orders and accurately process payments.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary café workspace.
• Complete opening and closing café procedures, including equipment setup, cleaning, and restocking.
• Monitor inventory and communicate when supplies need to be replenished.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and kosher café requirements.
• Properly handle and store food, beverages, and café supplies.
• Maintain a welcoming atmosphere for Gratz students, faculty, staff, and community members.
• Assist with basic café preparation and organization as needed.
• Follow all policies and procedures established by Gratz College and Gratz Commonspace
