Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or clinically related field.
  • LPC, LPCC, MSW, or LMFT licensure required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass DHS/DCFS/CJIS/DHHS or other background checks.
  • Ability to build relationships with diverse individuals or communities.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a trauma-informed environment.
  • Develop Individual and Family Treatment Plans with youth and families.
  • Provide youth-focused, strength-based therapy with families and foster families.
  • Participate in quarterly CFTM and treatment team meetings.
  • Assist in crisis responses as needed.
  • Coordinate aftercare with family and social service providers.
  • Engage educational, legal, and community supports to inform treatment.

Nexus Family Healing has an exciting opportunity for a Community Based Therapist role supporting our Minot, ND office! This position will provide mental health therapy services to youth within the child welfare system as well as their foster care providers, biological families or other natural supports. We are looking for an energetic, compassionate therapist to support the unique needs of children and families. The Community Based Therapist works as part of a multi-disciplinary wrap-around team in order to provide the most comprehensive and full-service support to clients. At Nexus Family Healing, clinicians are supported with free licensure supervision, TF-CBT training and other evidence-based modality training at no cost to the employee. Schedule/Pay/Location
  • Starting Salary - $64,000+ for intermediary therapist level; $67,000+ for fully licensed therapist

Primary Responsibilities
  • Creates and drives a trauma-informed environment
  • Collaboration with youth and family and team to develop an Individual and Family Treatment Plan
  • Provide individualized, youth-focused, strength and evidenced-based family and individual therapy models with youth, their families and foster families.
  • Participate in all treatment team meetings and coordinate quarterly CFTM (child and family team meetings)
  • Participate in needed crisis responses
  • Coordinate/communicate aftercare needs of the client with family and all necessary social service and community providers to ensure a smooth transition
  • Work with team member of the treatment team to engage all desired and necessary family members, educational, legal, community, and social service providers (as well as all-natural supports that the youth and family identify) to gather all necessary information to inform and support the treatment process
  • Ensures that all required client reports, records, and all documentation are produced accurately and maintained in a consistent, timely, and professional manner according to policy and regulated statutes
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or clinically related field
  • LPC, LPCC, of MSW, or LMFT Licensure required
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Must successfully pass a DHS/DCFS/CJIS/DHHS/ODHS or other federal and state criminal background check
  • Must have the ability to build strong relationships with diverse individuals or communities and understand their unique needs and challenges
  • Must be open to meeting the cultural needs of individuals or communities, considering factors such as language, traditions, and values.
Nice To Have
  • Experience working with at-risk youth and families facing mental health or behavioral health challenges
Travel
  • Regular business travel to family homes, community locations, and referral sites required
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to assist staff in physical interventions and restraints of clients
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time (2-4 hours)
  • Must be able to twist, bend and stretch in a manner conducive to the execution of daily activities within a residential treatment facility
  • All client-facing Nexus employees must successfully participate and complete a Handle With Care behavior intervention method exam and training
