Job summary

Nexus Family Healing in Grand Forks, ND is seeking a Community Based Therapist to deliver trauma-informed, youth-focused therapy within the child welfare system, collaborating with families, foster care providers, and multi-disciplinary teams.

You will receive licensure supervision at no cost, TF-CBT and other evidence-based training, generous time off and comprehensive benefits to support you and the communities we serve.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or a clinically related field.
  • LICENSURE in a related clinical field (MSW, LMFT, LPC) per state requirements.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work with diverse individuals and communities.
  • Willingness to consider language, traditions, and values in service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a trauma-informed environment.
  • Collaborate with youth, family, and team to develop an Individual and Family Treatment Plan.
  • Provide youth- and family-focused, evidence-based therapy.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and quarterly Child and Family Team Meetings.
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed.
  • Coordinate aftercare with family and social service providers.
  • Engage families and professionals to support treatment.
  • Ensure timely documentation per policy.
  • Respect cultural differences in service delivery.

Overview

Nexus Family Healing has an opportunity for a Community Based Therapist in the Grand Forks, ND office. The role provides mental health therapy services to youth within the child welfare system, as well as their foster care providers, biological families, or other natural supports. The therapist works as part of a multi-disciplinary wrap-around team to deliver comprehensive, high-quality therapy services to children and families in North Dakota.

Clinicians receive support including licensure supervision at no cost, TF-CBT training, and other evidence-based modality training to ensure high-quality, evidence-based therapy services.

Schedule, Pay, & Location
  • Starting salary at $67,000+
  • Hybrid remote (community and home-based) in the Grand Forks, North Dakota area

Primary Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain a trauma-informed environment
  • Collaborate with youth, family, and team to develop an Individual and Family Treatment Plan
  • Provide individualized, youth-focused, strength-based, evidence-based therapy with youth and families
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and coordinate quarterly Child and Family Team Meetings (CFTM)
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed
  • Coordinate aftercare needs with family and all relevant social service and community providers
  • Engage family members, educational professionals, legal representatives, and other supports to inform and support treatment
  • Ensure accurate, timely documentation and reporting per policy and regulations
  • Respect and incorporate cultural differences in all aspects of service delivery
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or a clinically related field
  • LICENSURE in a related clinical field (MSW, LMFT, LPC) per state board requirements
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to build strong relationships with diverse individuals and communities
  • Willingness to consider language, traditions, and values in service delivery
  • Ability to pass required background screenings per DHS rules and regulations
Nice to Have
  • Experience working with at-risk youth and families facing mental or behavioral health challenges
  • Full independent clinical licensure: LPCC or LCSW
Travel
