Job summary

Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a compassionate Substance Abuse Specialist (LCAS or LCAS-A) to join our Assertive Community Treatment Team in Asheville, NC. You will provide community-based substance use services to adults living with serious mental illness, helping them move toward long‑term recovery while meeting them where they are.

The role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, flexible scheduling, a company vehicle and phone, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina LCAS or LCAS-A license required.
• LCAS-A candidates must be working toward full licensure.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license.
• Ability to travel throughout the Asheville service area.
• Experience working with adults with mental illness or substance use disorders preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide community-based substance use services.
• Deliver individual and group interventions that promote recovery and reduce relapse risk.
• Utilize motivational interviewing and relapse prevention strategies.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, therapists, peer support specialists, and case managers to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation in accordance with ACTT and agency standards.
