Job summary

NATIVE HEALTH in Mesa, AZ, seeks a Substance Use Counselor to join a multidisciplinary patient care team. The counselor delivers direct counseling focused on substance use and mental health for individuals, families, and groups, reporting to the Recovery Service Coordinator.

Qualifications include AZBBHE licensure, LMSW/LAC/LAMFT/LAAC or related; at least 3 years in substance abuse with diverse populations; Spanish bilingual preferred.

Qualifications

• Active AZBBHE licensure as LMSW/LAC/LAMFT/LAAC required.
• AZBBHE licensure as LCSW/LPC/LMFT or LIAC preferred.
• Three years of substance abuse experience with diverse populations preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred; fluency evaluation required.

Responsibilities

• Assess and provide therapeutic substance use counseling for individuals, families, or groups.
• Deliver prevention/education services in a cost-effective manner.
• Document, bill, and support program audits timely and accurately.
• Participate in case staffing and peer review sessions.
• Collaborate with care teams to support patients and care continuity.
