Job summary

Neighborhood Service Organization seeks a Certified Peer Support Specialist to join its Well-Being team. You will provide peer coaching, assist with assessment and case planning, and connect clients to community referrals in a community-based setting.

Under supervision, you will maintain documentation, participate in team meetings, and help clients access resources to support recovery and community inclusion. Strong lived experience and commitment to underserved populations are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certified Peer Support Specialist certification required.
• 1 year of experience using services in community mental health (CMH) with recovery from mental illness, addiction, or homelessness.
• 6 months experience in peer support, self-help, or mental health/behavioral health services.
• Ability to use a computer including MS Word & Outlook/email.
• Valid MI driver's license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Gain trust and respect of peers based on shared experience and mutual support.
• Mentor the peer on navigating human service systems.
• Model recovery and community participation with peers.
• Provide follow-up services to known locations identified by the person served.
• Participate in team meetings and present information to the consumer's treatment team.
• Assist with developing and monitoring Person Centered Plans with clinic case managers.
• Document services timely and accurately per NSO policy.
• Complete progress notes per NSO policy.
