Job summary

Bay Area Community Services in Oakland hires Employment Coordinators to help chronically homeless adults living with mental illness secure competitive jobs using IPS-based strategies. The role supports wellness and recovery while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team across Alameda County.

You will manage a caseload, market to employers, document progress, and travel extensively. This is a day-shift, on-site position with strong growth opportunities and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; 4 years in mental health/social services; degree preferred.
• 1 year experience in recruitment, marketing, or B2B strategy preferred.
• 2 years experience in employment services for adults with mental illness preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; typing 45 WPM.
• Valid California driver’s license, personal vehicle, and proof of personal vehicle insurance coverage; DMV printout required.
• Extensive local travel is required; vehicle reimbursement provided.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, coach and advocate for employment program members to find competitive jobs.
• Manage a caseload of 20 program members in their employment search.
• Support the general wellness and recovery plan for participants.
• Market, advertise, and collaborate with employers and potential employers, Department of Rehabilitation representatives and other team members.
• Document and maintain all data collection, reporting, and charting records; stay within required productivity levels.
• Participate in supervision, staff meetings, clinical consultation, on-call coverage, travel, crisis coverage, weekend coverage, and agency-wide meetings and training.
