MDC Hope is seeking an Employment Specialist to deliver individualized employment services, including client support, employer engagement, and community outreach in Tacoma, WA. Your role requires strong communication, organization, and time management, plus proficiency in case management software and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Services or related field.
• Certifications such as CESP, Employment Support Professional Certification, CRCC, or Certified Peer Counselor are desirable.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong technology skills (e.g., Microsoft Windows and Office).
• Experience creating and maintaining case notes.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Valid WA State Driver License and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with clients, clinicians, support teams, insurers, and agencies.
• Conduct rapid job search activities within 30 days of enrollment.
• Perform person-centered vocational assessments of strengths and preferences.
• Develop individualized employment plans with participants.
• Provide benefits counseling and work incentive planning.
• Assist with job applications, interviews, and workplace readiness.
• Provide on-the-job coaching and workplace support.
• Negotiate accommodations with employers.
• Deliver follow-along supports as needed.
• Support career advancement and transitions.
