Job summary

Royal Community Support – Hackensack Branch is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to help an individual live independently in Roseland, Essex County, NJ. This community-based role focuses on person-centered care, daily living skills, and meaningful engagement.

The DSP will work part-time, 2 days per week, 3 hours per shift (6 hours weekly), providing in-home support and transportation as needed. A friendly, patient, professional approach is essential.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record; reliable personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living skills (bathing, dressing, grooming).
• Support housekeeping tasks (laundry, dishes, tidying, light cleaning).
• Prepare meals according to dietary needs.
• Teach and reinforce independent living skills.
• Follow individualized service plans and behavior support strategies.
• Provide transportation to appointments and community activities.
• Encourage participation in social and recreational activities.
• Promote safety and well-being at all times.
• Maintain professional communication with guardians and agency staff.
